The enclosed application is a demonstration version of SpaceMaker™. SpaceMaker™ reclaims unused disk space by converting Mac OS Standard format disks to Mac OS Extended format. This demonstration copy lets you calculate exactly how much disk space you will save by converting your disk.
SpaceMaker™ converts your disks to Mac OS Extended format without requiring a full backup of your hard disk before converting. SpaceMaker™ is easy-to-use, safe and reliable.
Minimum Requirements
=====================
SpaceMaker™ requires a PowerPC Macintosh running System 7.6 or higher and a minimum of 5.7 MB of free memory. Disks converted to Mac OS Extended format with SpaceMaker™ can only be used on computers running Mac OS 8.1 or higher.
Running the SpaceMaker™ Demo Application
=======================================
To find out for yourself exactly how much disk space you can save by converting your disk to Mac OS Extended format, follow these steps:
1) Double-click the SpaceMaker application icon
2) Click Continue to dismiss the startup screen
3) Select a disk
4) Click Calculate Savings
Since this version of SpaceMaker is only a demonstration version, you will not be able to convert your disk to Mac OS Extended format. If you select a disk and click Convert, a dialog will appear that indicates that you are using a demonstration version of the software.
